The hijab

It]s more than just a piece of cloth

It’s a symbol of our religion

It’s worn in sincerity

It’s worn in oppression

It protects you from the world

It protects you from within

It’s a shield made of fabric

A facade that hides your sin

It’s a good motivation

For ibadah that’s worth a try

It’s a multi-millionaire business

That fashion makes you buy

They will never understand

How hard it is to wear

To stand the heat and humidity

To conceal our beautiful hair

And yet they still condemn

As if theyre in our shoes

The length, the choice, the presence,

They have nothing to lose

I’m not trying to be controversial

I’m just sharing a perspective

This is a big commitment if you can’t tell

And those who wear it are impressive
